The Calathea is a popular houseplant known for its beautiful, decorative leaves with unique patterns. This plant brings a luxurious and tropical look to your home and is a real eye-catcher. Water requirements are moderate to high. Keep the soil lightly moist, but not wet. Do not let the top layer dry out completely. Preferably use filtered or rainwater, as Calathea can be sensitive to lime in tap water.
The Calathea loves lots of indirect light, but can also thrive in partial shade. Avoid direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves and fade their colors. In too little light, the plant will not grow as well.
The Calathea prefers high humidity (preferably 60–70%) and a temperature between 18 and 26°C, and tolerates dry air and drafts poorly.
In spring and summer, feed your plants once a month. In autumn and winter, feeding is usually not necessary.
Use an airy, slightly moist potting soil that retains water well but doesn't stay too wet. Repot only when the plant outgrows its pot or grows less vigorously.
