Plant Care Guide - Pachira Aquatica

The Pachira aquatica, better known as the money tree, is a popular houseplant with a braided trunk and glossy green leaves. This plant symbolizes luck and prosperity and is often chosen as a decorative focal point in the home. Due to its robust nature and simple care, it is suitable for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts.

Care

Watering

The water requirement is average. Let the top layer of the soil dry out before watering again. Usually, once a week is sufficient, depending on the environment. Make sure no water remains at the bottom of the pot to prevent root rot.

Light requirement

The Pachira loves plenty of indirect light, but also thrives in partial shade. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, as this can damage the leaves. In a bright spot, the plant grows most beautifully and remains compact and full.

Humidity & Temperature

This plant thrives in average humidity. Occasional misting can help keep the leaves looking good. The ideal temperature is between 18 and 25°C. Avoid drafts and cold.

Nutrition

In spring and summer, feed your plants once a month. In autumn and winter, additional feeding is usually not necessary.

Soil & repotting

Use a light, well-draining potting mix. Repot only when the plant outgrows its pot or when the roots have little space. Choose a pot with drainage holes so that excess water can drain properly.
