Plant Care Guide - Peperomia (radiator plant)
The Peperomia, also known as the radiator plant, is a compact and easy-to-care-for houseplant with thick, decorative leaves. Its slow growth and hardy nature make it perfect for beginners. Additionally, it fits well in small spaces and on desks or shelves.
Care
Watering
This plant needs little water. Allow the soil to dry out thoroughly before watering again. Usually, once a week or less is sufficient. Too much water can quickly cause root rot.
Light requirement
The Peperomia loves lots of indirect light, but can also cope well with less light. Avoid direct sunlight, as this can damage the leaves. The more light, the more beautiful and compact the plant grows.
Humidity & Temperature
The Peperomia thrives in average humidity. Extra misting is usually not necessary. The ideal temperature is between 18 and 25°C. Avoid cold drafts.
Nutrition
In spring and summer, feed your plant a little once a month. In winter, the plant does not need extra nutrition.
Soil & repotting
Use a light, well-draining potting soil. Repot only when the plant outgrows its pot. Peperomia are slow growers, so this isn't often necessary.
